CONCORD, California — October 23, 2026. This original California58 Local report is based on an identified public agency record. Proposals, meeting notices, campaign material and estimated outcomes are carefully distinguished from decisions and certified results.
Which seats are on the municipal ballot?
The City of Concord election page identifies three council contests for November 3, 2026: Districts 1, 3 and 5, plus the citywide elected City Treasurer. Districts 2 and 4 are next scheduled for November 2028, assuming the city’s adopted regular election schedule remains unchanged. Council terms last four years and are staggered. A district resident votes for their own local council seat, not every district’s seat.
How is the mayor chosen?
Concord uses a five-member council, and the council selects the Mayor and Vice Mayor for one-year terms. This means the November municipal ballot is not a separate direct election for Concord mayor. The treasurer is separately elected. Before voting, check your own sample ballot, as city district boundaries are determined by residence, not by a general ZIP-code search.
Candidate filings and election information
The City Clerk runs the municipal process and publishes current candidate and campaign reporting resources. A person who requested nomination paperwork is not necessarily an official ballot candidate. Residents should consult the final candidate list and Contra Costa County Elections for vote center details, ballot tracking and any conditional registration options.
Neutral coverage
California58 does not endorse municipal candidates. For a meaningful comparison, consider candidate filing records, campaign finance disclosures and documented positions on local roads, redevelopment, schools, public safety and city spending. Election results cannot be known before votes are counted.
